You Shall Know Them by Their Fruits
-Jesus is King- I often get the accusation: “you are taking bible verses out of context”. Such comments are simply well worn cliches with no substance. The Old Testament is replete–wall to wall–with the kill, steal and destroy of Yahweh. Take your pick and compare with the omnipotent, loving Father Jesus declared: Yahweh’s record is not a mood. It is a ledger. “The LORD is a man of war” (Exodus 15:3). “I make peace, and create evil” (Isaiah 45:7). “I kill, and I make alive” (Deuteronomy 32:39). He slays the firstborn of Egypt (Exodus 12:29), rains fire on Sodom (Genesis 19:24), and after the same census–moved by “the LORD” in Samuel and by “Satan” in Chronicles– seventy thousand fall (2 Samuel 24:1, 15; 1 Chronicles 21:1). He orders Amalek erased, infant and suckling (1 Samuel 15:3), and tells Joshua to save alive nothing that breathes (Deuteronomy 20:16; Joshua 10:40). He visits the fathers’ iniquity on the children (Exodus 20:5), puts a lying spirit in the prophets’ mouths (1 Ki...
